Nikon has just released their new SLR digital camera for beginner, Nikon D5000. This 12.7 megapixel camera has 2.7 inch display. On this new camera, Nikon offers a more comfortable way to take pictures by using guide on the display.
Nikon claims that the quality of the pictures taken by D5000 are equal with those taken by its middle camera D90. As its predecessor, D5000 is also equipped with Expeed, photo management technology to support Nikon lenses. D5000 is also claimed to produce smooth color gradation, optimal color reproduction, and eliminate any flaws in low light condition.
Nikon D5000 has the capability to take continuous shoot, about 4 frames per second. And to make accurate exposure, there is a 3D Color Matrix Metering II and 11 autofocus options.
Its ISO is quite high for its class, 100 up to 6400. Other products is only between 200 up to 3200. As other new Nikon products, the Nikon D5000 is also supporting Live View Shooting. A feature that makes the user to take pictures with only one click. On this mode, autofocus will automatically look for the best focus. Whether it is on the face, wider area, or normal area.
What if you want to take a video? D5000 is able to do that easily. Of course you don’t have to worry about the quality, D5000 can take 24 frames per second in HDTV quality (1280 x 720 pixel). And if you want to play back your recorded video on PC or to be shared on the web, you can choose 640 x 424 pixels or 320 x 216 pixels.
Nikon offers 19 modes in taking pictures. 6 mode you can choose through the camera’s display, and the other 13 must be set from dial mode to scene mode. You will also get photo editing software to have the best picture result. Although you can also edit your photos right in the camera itself.
